Day Sixteen

So, it's been a while since I have updated. I haven't had anymore "novel brain" moments, thank goodness.

Work was hard today. Had a three day weekend (took a personal sick day on Friday). I am just so tired of working in a call center. Some people just want to call and yell until they get their way, and most of the time, it never works. Or then there are the callers who are so sweet and really just want some help. It's bittersweet I guess. And it's a job.

Friday we left Raleigh around 4pm and drove to Salem, Virginia. We got to the concert just in time to find our friends before the show and get our tickets from will call (which I was very excited about because I had left the credit card at home that I used to pay for the tickets online. Luckily, they asked for my ID and not the card!) The concert was fun! it was weird being in my home town and not going to visit my mom and brother, or in-laws. We did hit up the Denny's after the show (which we hadn't done in years!), because some of us hadn't eaten all day (stupid stomach problems).

We then drove from Roanoke to Lynchburg and stayed the night in the cabin (a friend's place). Only got to spend seconds if felt with the friend from Seattle that was home for only this past weekend. I had wanted to stay and hang out with her, but we had obligations elsewhere in Virginia. Saturday morning it was off to Richmond and I pointed out to my husband the hospital where I was born. The baby shower was so much fun! We each had to paint a onesie for the baby to wear. Some of the painting was really good!

After the baby shower, the husband and I got back in the car and drove back to Raleigh. What a crazy 24 hours! I was so tired when we got home I had a complete mental breakdown (another bad phone call home) and didn't want to finish the novel. I actually said I was going to quit. But, the husband took me out to dinner (a late dinner at McDoanlds) and told me to put on my writing sweat shirt and write. So, I pounded out a few words to keep myself going with my nano baby.
Sunday, I wrote off and on all day and got the word count up to 30000 words by the end of the night. This is good because tomorrow I have to stay late at work, run to a meeting at 6 and then Friday I'm off to Virginia again.

And then there is Thanksgiving...I rally hope I can get this all done. This and the thought of going back to school is all waying very heavy on my right now.
