After being sick for almost all of the month of December and then spending time with family when I wasn't sick, this weekend has been wonderful!
Best friend was in town for New Years, so that weekend there wasn't a lot of relaxing. A lot of eating, shopping and cooking, and drinking of wine and beer. Not too many pictures though.
The next weekend, surprise, it was back to Roanoke, VA, again. I'm going to see just how many weekends in a row I can stay out of Roanoke this year. I'm ready for people to start coming to me!
So last weekend was spent with the husband's family doing the Christmas thing as the snow and ice canceled all plans in December.
This weekend however, we, or I, spent as much time at home as possible. All day long in my jamies today! (And that included while working out and going through the drive thru for dinner).
Friday morning we got the word that the baby was on her way! That email just had Friday start off right. By the time I got to work, I checked facebook and found out that the little munchkin was already here, must have been a record first labor/birth! Friend's water broke around midnight and we got the email informing us about this at about 7:30. Well, little Savannah was already here by 7:15 AM!
Been praying like crazy for the little girl. Her heart needs some help so it will be a while before she can come home from the hospital. Can't wait to see her and kiss her little face though! My husband made the comment that they (babies) are not fun until they are running around anyway. But they are so much fun just to watch when they are tiny!
So, Friday we were going to go to the hospital to meet baby Savannah, but with everything going on, just stayed home and waited for news to develop. Also, I went by the kennel on my way home to see see Laura and Chris. May go back there on the weekends, sure miss working with the dogs. After that the husband and I ended up at Target and purchased the new Wii game that my sis-in-law gave me money to buy because she couldn't find it in Roanoke and the hubby and I stayed in for a nice evening at home.
Saturday morning it was breakfast at Cracker Barrel (my favorite!) and then we cleaned out the garage. The weather was so nice on Saturday. I love living in Raleigh! We also bought a new DVD player for my work out room and a book case for my books that have been in boxes for the past 6 months.
Today the husband went out with the guys so I dyed my hair, did 6 loads of laundry, replaced some things around the house, played the new video game, cleaned the dishes and played in mud with Baden. (Back yard is one big puddle, playing with the dog didn't last long because my dog hates to get his feet wet.)
Also, called my grandparents and read the novel I wrote in November. Its actually not that bad and I have a lot of ideas to expand it. Looking forward to this process. However, it's funny how the novel took hours in November to write and only 4 hours to read.
This week is week 3 of my work out routine. Lost 3 pounds so far, which is good for me and I'm happy.
Thursday morning I had everything figured out. For my jobs in life. It went like this : Near future, except seat in massage school and quit current job and go back to working at the kennel for a year while I finish the year long massage program. After graduation and state tests for massage, do massage for 15 years (or as long as my body will allow) and have kids in there somewhere. Also try to get published and continue to do NaNoWriMo until I get one published. After this, hoping the husband will have had a chance to go back to school so that I can go back again, for Masters in Library Science. Would finish life as a librarian and retire.
Then I got to work and was promoted. Go figure. Need to figure out a plan B.
